SPACESAVING IDEAS/REDECORATING?
I HAVE TWO KIDS, 5 AND 3 THAT HAVE TO SHARE A ROOM FOR NOW. BUNK BEDS, TWO DRESSERS, A TOY BOX, TONS OF TOYS, PRETTY MUCH NO CLOSET. I AM LOOKING FOR GOOD STORAGE IDEAS AS FAR AS TOYS, GAMES, BOOKS, BINS, FURNITURE, ANYTHING, THE ROOM IS QUITE SMALL AND NEEDS A REVAMP BAD. ALSO, WHAT COLOR WOULD BRIGHTEN IT UP, THE WALLS ARE PANELING RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU

I would do a blue room with a yellowy feature wall. The yellow picks up every bit of light in the room making the room look bigger. If your panelling has those little lines ever so often you have a good basis for stripes, so if you are feeling creative you could put some blue stripes on yellow or vice versa. I did my stepdaughters room in yellow and blue and got one of those lil moon lamps to put on the wall for the top bunk light. It looks very nice now.
Try using a couple of those over the door cloth shoe holders, but not for the shoes.. Put in things like their jump ropes, toy cars, their walkee talkees if they have em, a box with their crayons in , coloring books can be rolled into a spot too. now put this on the outside of the door, now.. over the inside of the door get one of those hook things that hook over the door, this is for their jackets, hats, school (or nursery) bags etc. Now you have a good bit of the stuff out of the floor, you can do the same thing with the closet door too. maybe one door for each child. A closet doubler is very useful Basically what it is is two long rods of metal with hooks on the end that are attached to a post on the bottom. The post on the bottom gives you more space for additional hanging clothes at the bottom of the closet, which is good because neither your your youngsters are that tall yet.

Wall shelving is an awesome addition in a small house. You can make your own or buy them from a shop. you can get the little plastic or big plastic storage bins that can hold anything from lego to underwear and with wall shelving you can still use the floor space to walk around and play.

I hope this helps.
oh and check out freecycle.com its one of the yahoo groups.. they may have a branch in your area. Its a site that helps keep stuff out of the garbage cans. You can get a lot of neat things to sort out your room on there just by watching to see what people are getting rid of or placing a wanted ad. Besure to read the rules though, because some areas only allow a certain amount of wanted posts a month.
